Sounds like the ousted government was using our hundreds of millions of military aide for something other than their military. At least they’ll be rich as fuck with gold rolexes in whatever country they flee to.

And this is on top of the sanctions imposed on them, forcing the the Niger junta to cut the 2023 budget by 40 percent which was initially forecasted at 3.29 trillion CFA francs ($5.3 billion), now to only 1.98 trillion CFA francs.
The country was already beset by crippling poverty and long term insecurities caused by other violent Islamist groups. What a mess.
