For anyone who is scratching their heads about this (as I was last week or so when reading about it), this isn’t *really* about a lectern.
It is theorized that Sanders funneled taxpayer money spent on a state issued credit card to help a friend (a friend who also attended J6) go to Paris with her on an “official trade” trip or something like that.
The expense report *says* the payment was for a lectern and travel case…but $19k is *way* too expensive and not comparable to other such products…
And Sanders office *said* it was paid for with private funds…but receipts show that was paid for with a state issued credit card. Moves to pay it back with private money werent made until after a reporter started digging into it…
…cause as we all know, it’s not embezzlement if you put the money *back* when you’re discovered 😬 🤜 💰
..and Sanders 😉 *coincidentally* 😉 wanted to restrict the public’s ability to use Freedom of Information Act requests to see how the governor is using taxpayer money for travel…
…at about the time reporters were trying to use FOIA requests to see how **she** is spending taxpayer money for travel…
In short, she tried to pull a Trump and get taxpayers to cough up for her vacation plans with her friend…and has been inept at covering it up.
The only good thing that could come of this is more people learning the difference between a lectern and a podium.
The podium hides the lazy eye.
If she is smart, she will get her brother to kill the story.
Thank goodness for Matt Campbell and the other dogged reporters daring to challenge Her Majesty.
