Regardless of your feelings about trans people, citizens of this country have the same constitutional rights to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.
Republicans that suggest otherwise are unserious people and should be treated accordingly.

Allowing trans teens to get on puberty blockers [lowers their risk of suicide](https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamanetworkopen/fullarticle/2789423) by up to 70%. Denying a trans person’s gender kills them.

Providing an equally or more effective alternative treatment would seem to be the better first step.
Be offended or frightened or disturbed by gender affirming care to whatever extent you want. If you can’t provide an effective alternative then shut the fuck up.
No one is providing gender affirming care for shits and giggles. Prescriptions and surgeries aren’t handed out willy-nilly. If you’ve got treatments that can help transgender people (and not just your peace of mind) then speak the fuck up. Champion those. Bring them to the front of your crusade. Wave them like fucking banners.
Until then, shut the fuck up about how you don’t want to help people because your discomfort is apparently more important than their suffering.

The fascist US White Christian Nationalist movement made promises of our eradication their path into power, and god help us it is working! In about half the country they are increasingly in positions to start following through on those promises! And they started with trans people but are quickly expanding to cis queer people too!
They are rapidly building the social and legal framework for making transition effectively impossible, and classify the public existence of sex and gender variance outside cis/straight norms to be pedophilic grooming by exposing children to degenerate sexual activity. Even if all we’re doing is standing in line at the goddam grocery store.
Florida and a lot of other states are trying to seize trans children from supportive cis parents and criminally charge those parents, on the grounds that allowing their child’s transition is on par with raping them.

And banning all gender affirming medical care for trans youth, and increasingly for adults, and threatening doctors with jail time.
And trying to pass “drag bans” that classify gender variance as inherently sexual and obscene and inappropriate for children to see.
And Florida’s new law permitting the death penalty for child sexual abuse.
And the new law lowering the requirement for the death penalty by allowing juries to recommend it with an 8-to-4 vote rather than unanimous.
And in his concurring opinion after striking down Roe, Thomas wrote that the SCOTUS rulings prohibiting states from banning contraceptives, gay marriage, and “sodomy” may also be “up for review” too.
If “sodomy” laws are allowed to return, cis queer people’s existence will be officially criminalized too. When queer relationships are by definition a sex crime, the public existence of cis queer people will be criminalized as pedophic grooming just like trans people’s public existence currently is.
It doesn’t take a psychic to see where they’re going here. And where Florida goes the fascist movement in the rest of MAGA America follows.

For the record, gender-affirming care for adults and minors has been carefully studied and conducted to exacting standards of care by the scientific medical community before the rise of this politician rose to any degree of popularity. The care touches on many broad aspects of living, and focuses on providing a better life for people who face the genuine need in their lives to live in a way honest to their character. The intentional targeting of a community that is already marginalized and faces constant challenges is not helpful to anyone, and only increases the risk of misunderstandings and malicious behavior.
A woman (and mother) who broke her marriage vows to have illicit affairs with multiple guys at the gym feels entitled to legislate parenting for others.
She is pure evil. Why she has so much hate is a mystery.
My family and I spent the day at a Pride festival near our house last Saturday. My daughter is lgbtq. Actually I went a few hours early and helped set up. In my 49 years on this earth I have never,let me repeat, NEVER, been around people who made me feel more welcome, accepted and loved than I did that day. There was a booth with a transwoman and transman who started an organization in our state that is for trans community and I spoke with them about it. So, everytime one of these Christian ass bags pulls shit like this it pushes me way past anger and into wanting to get violent.
What do they get out of restricting medical care for people? Nothing. It benefits nobody. It’s straight up an attack on people they don’t like for no good reason. They use religion to do it too. Christians need to speak up against these clowns if they don’t want to die off in America.

There are conservatives in state legislatures who actively fight against raising ages for marital consent/child marriage. Which doesn’t matter because your parents can still sign you away.
Child labor laws are falling in red states and children are dying as a result.

They want to tell grown adults that they cannot receive gender-affirming care. Why? Are those adults hurting others by being trans? No, they are not, but they *exist*, and Republicans *love* big government when it can be used to hurt people they don’t like.
So does that mean she’ll be removing her implants and caps? I consider the work she’s had done on herself as gender affirming care.
