Pathetic attempt from FG to suggest it was in an IRA context. But it’s to be expected from FG.
Take away the parties involved, what he said was grossly inappropriate for a colleague-colleague/workplace/adult conversation.
It’s also just so immature – “wait till my friend gets up here, they’ll put manners on you”. It’s just not acceptable behaviour, it’s an idiom used as a threat.
Akin to “Wait till your father gets home and he’ll put manners on you”.
Pathetic.
It was a bad phrase to use in a political debate and reflects badly on Pádraig. It’s not that deep but calling it out is a fair response and hopefully we can all move on and eat our cornflakes in peace.
Fuck you deputy Stagg.
Please join my campaign to keep this “debate me” American-ism out of our political discourse.
You debate a topic not a person
> I’m sure Pearse Doherty will look forward to debating you after this budget and I’m sure he’ll look forward to putting manners on you.
That aside, poor choice of words from Pádraig.
>I’m sure Pearse Doherty will look forward to debating you after this budget and I’m sure he’ll look forward to putting manners on you.
This is so hilariously pathetic
Don’t know if I’d consider it menacing but definitely gross and misogynistic.
