Why are German recruiters so entitled? Mind you it’s not the old people so that we can say they are not conversant with emails/technology. They are young guys (and gals) whom aren’t into their 30’s yet.(from their pictures on the job section of websites)

The contact person (recruiters) are usually listed directly below that particular post (a good thing) but contacting them is usually a nightmare because 99% of them won’t answer your job related emails and the 1% that answer, it’s usually automated emails telling you that they are on vacation.

Surprisingly, older ladies(from their profile pictures), do answer emails and explain to you everything sweetly even though they might take a while. God bless them. But this others behave like demi-gods yet they get paid.

Mind you, you can’t say they are get swamped by emails because [Germany is experiencing a growing labor shortage](https://apnews.com/article/germany-labor-shortages-brazil-8be4a0cd14b9dcd55a2f9ebf4d1d0cae) and naturally they should be responding to potential workers.

If you are a recruiter, please answer job related emails. Thank you.

  1. They would answer you very fast if they could make money with you.

  2. were talking recruiting people at companies, not headhunters?

    > Mind you, you can’t say they are get swamped by emails because Germany is experiencing a growing labor shortage and naturally they should be responding to potential workers.

Put a job offer for any position of somewhat skilled labour online and it will get flooded with bullshit.

  3. There are hundreds of people trying to get every job, you’re not being ignored they just have more than enough candidates. You’re probably too late when you message them

  4. All depends on the job area and your skill set. I regularly get calls from recruiters and headhunters. So it rarely takes more than 30 minutes to recieve a response. That is usually the case for any in demand skill set.
So if you get ignored by 99% of all recruiters as you‘ve put it there may be a chance there is nothing wrong with their work and more with your CV.

  5. > Why are ~~German~~ recruiters so entitled?

FTFY. The stuff you posted about is common with recruiters in other countries as well.

Never understood how recruiting is apparently a ‘very saturated and competitive field’ but 90% of the recruiters act like this and still have their careers.

  6. 1. they get hundreds of emails and messages, and they have hundreds of applications, chances are they don’t bother with you, especially if they think the job posting has all the required information
    2. labor shortage is for carpenters, cleaners, mechanics, and other stuff like this. For anything else, like IT or business or whatever, the competition is fierce.

  7. What I find more funny / weird, is when they act entitled during the interviews, especially when it comes to salary negotiations.

    * No, I won’t tell you my current salary first, tell me what you offer.
    * No, I don’t agree that getting a 20-40% (true story) salary cut is a good opportunity for me, because it’s such a high privilege to work for your noname company.
    * Yes, I think I can get better offers with my skillset. Moreover I just told you that I already earn way more than you’ve offered.

Such a weird gaslighting game. It also feels like there’s a lack of recognition that salaries (at least in IT) are going up everywhere, and with German cost of living offering such small amounts just won’t cut it.

  8. I see you haven’t worked with UK recruiters in Germany…
