Should I be worried about the state of our elevator? I want to contact them, but I’m not sure how or what to even say. What’s the best course of action? I live in an apartment in this building.

  1. If you want to be annoying about it then ask your Hausverwaltung. I imagine that, like just about all kinds of skilled labor, there’s a huge backup of people who need elevator inspectors so it’s taking longer than usual but is probably already scheduled. No cause to freak out just because it’s a month or so behind on its inspection.

  2. Let me guess, you throw away food, the day after the Mindesthaltbarkeitsdatum pased.

  3. You can ask your landlord for date that the service will happen. The landlord has a contract with the servicecompany and they will service the elevator. It is not unusual that there is 1-2 months between the Date it should be serviced and the service because of how many elevators need service. There should not be a problem.

  4. Honestly, did you think this was worth posting about if the elevator is in working order?

If it’s keeping you up at night, contact the appropriate people who can help. We can just recommend common sense here, which would be to contact the appropriate people who can help.

  5. Congratulations, you are now a recognized citizen of Germany
