From the streets to the sea, Dublin’s dog shit will be free!
“temporary overflows from urban drainage infrastructure”
“The group recommended that people should not swim in bathing spots for at least two days after significant rainfall, due to the risk of diluted sewage overflowing into the sea.”
Sure, pick up dog faeces too but I doubt that it will fix the problem we have when it rains.
In places with beach culture dogs are banned from beach. For sanity and safety reasons. However there are designated places far away from main beaches. In Ireland beaches are literally a dog toilets. I was on the beach in August and kids were playing building sand castle. A dog came around and literally shit on it. A dog Owner didn’t even acknowledge it. On the other occasion little girl stomped into dogs shit that was in the middle of wooden path leading to the beach. Dog owners feel entitled to do whatever they feel is convenient for their dogs in all public spaces in Ireland. They just don’t care.
Fun fact: every day in Ireland over 91kg of dog shit is left directly on my fucking doorstep
I thought it was cattle slurry? Seems like it’s fairly easy to blame the animals, I see Seagulls getting 1/5th of the blame too!
But yeah, lets just brush over the untreated sewage part.
> Dog dirt
I didn’t know my mother wrote for the Irish Times under a pseudonym
