So, I’m confused again 😄 everything I’ve read tells me elää means ‘live’ as in ‘I want to live’. Where asuu means ‘live’ as in ‘I live in England’. So how is this correct?!

Elää: translates “to live” in almost all possible meanings.

Asua: translates “to live” but in specific “inhabit in a place” kind of thing. And this only covers people in their dwellings or areas. Not animals in their habitats. I think that is what caused you confusion. The reason is the verb is derived from noun “asunto” which means built dwelling.

Example:
Elän rauhallista elämää. – I live quiet life.
Asun Raumalla. – I live at Rauma.
Not too sure why I’m being downvoted for trying to understand the language better. I did look it up before I asked, but sadly was not able to find clarity…
