Based on opinion polls, Sinn Fein will also lead the next government in Ireland after next elections leaving it as the main governing party in both Northern Ireland (UK) and the Republic of Ireland (EU)

As someone living in Ireland I am deeply, deeply repulsed by the pro-Hamas levels of support here. Not just pro-Palestenian civilians and anti-Israel regime sentiments, which would be fine, but actual support for Hamas, justifying their actions etc. Some here and there try to claim they don’t specifically support Hamas but just “Free Palestine”, which is nothing but a dog whistle and in practice and reality the majority do.
It’s shocking and horrific. The only reason for this support is they have somehow been brainwashed to equate the Irish freedom movement with the Palestenian resistance. But if your “freedom fighting” consists of mass, purposeful and targeted slaughter specifically of women and children, how in the hell is that justified? They don’t care here, they just think “Hamas has no choice.”
They think themselves as pro-human rights and will point out the suffering in Gaza, which is right, but they really have no clue how utterly warped their justification of Hamas’ actions is. And this is across the political parties. Stupid, embarassing and sickening.

They’d murder people in Ireland for being queer or female while wearing what they consider “revealing” clothes. They would and have in the past, cheered upon news of terrorist attacks in the left.
