Braverman is such a weird name because she’s neither of those things. False advertising.
More illegal than owning a plastic knife even m8
All Hamas might be Palestine but all Palestine is not Hamas. F**k Hamas but don’t generalize them to Palestinians.
Why not go a step further and have them wear some kind of badge in public so we can all identify them. Obvious/s
> Waving a Palestinian flag or singing a chant advocating freedom for Arabs in the region may be a criminal offence
This sounds cartoonishly dumb. I’d like to see how courts would handle that.
Thoughtcrime is alive and well in the UK.

She is suggesting very dangerous rhetoric and conflating of ideas to make illegal what are inherently parts of people’s identity. If the same logic was applied equally, then people waving Israeli flags around Palestinians (or other Arabs considering the generalisation suggested in the article) should also potentially considered racist, and saying Israel has a right to be safe and secure its borders is potential racism towards Palestinians/Arabs?
I would be extremely surprised if this opposite situation would even be entertained by this government and the police, which is rather damning in a supposedly secular society.
Did anybody actually read the article? It’s not a blanket ban at all, it specifically applies to situations where it’s being used
>to harass or intimidate members of the Jewish community
In the same way that it’s not inherently illegal to burn a cross, it can be illegal if you’re doing it in front of a black person’s house as part of a KKK rally
There is nothing wrong with waving a Palestinian flag. If it was a Hamas flag, then thats different.
Wow. Slip sliding into authoritarian territory. Using another countries tragedy to expand your power.
As an Israeli I think that protesting for Palestine should be legal.
Calling to “Gas the Jews” should definitely be illegal and even a deportable offense.
It’s about time. That flag is a symbol of hate and terror
Meanwhile Dana White: “If a flag offends you, too fucking bad “
Clickbait headline that leaves out a rather important part of what was said. You’d expect better from the Guardian.
Damnit..bitch got me.
Take my money. Sold
For the “this is thought crime” and “this is just peaceful protest” crowd, this is what she is suggesting IS a crime
Hamas done so much damage to Palestinian cause full extent won’t be visible for a long while.
This is a dare now. F off already.
Fine, I’ll use my Russian federation flag instead.
That sounds like bullshit. What happened to free speech? Or is that only an American thing
Now I understand why some people are called “sheeple”. They’ll take any unverified narrative and run with it.
The flags aren’t a problem, the harassment and supporting terrorism is and people shouldn’t be free to voice that kind of stuff. (From the article, headline is misleading)

Let’s see them try to enforce that.
