See the post above. I was afraid, to be honest. But after I turned off the main power supply and got a 2 pole spannungsprufer, managed to install it.

One question though: in the middle of the lamp there is no cable which comes from the lamp, as seen on its left and right (N and L). But I put the green cable there anyways. Would that be a problem?

  1. The green/yellow cable is a safety precaution that is only required for lamps that have a metal case. In that case, that cable is connected to the case. Should the black cable get loose and touch the metal case, and then you touch the lamp, you would get an electric shock. But before that can happen, the green/yellow cable will create a short-circuit and trip the circuit breaker.

    But if an electric device has a case from a material that doesn’t conduct electricity, then the green/yellow cable isn’t required.
