  10. While people will speculate Netanyahu’s intentions and what not with all this info that is going to come forward, intelligence is a goulash of many a things. But politics is also a nasty thing.

    They must get such warnings all the time, and I’d assume Israeli intelligence to have been sure that it was a nothing burger. But slip ups happen, and this is one of those major ones.

    Whatever follows though, I sure hope Israel’s internal politics and someone’s election ambitions wasn’t a party to the massacre of their own people, and ultimately many innocent Palestinians.

  12. Due to the sheer scope of the assault, there had to have been signs. And honestly to me, since more than one source I’ve seen has mentioned Egypt notifying Israel, to me that points to credibility.

    So the ultimate question ends up being, what happened? Because this failure is on a monumental scale. And then we have Netanyahu denying there were any warnings is to be suspicious.

    I think one of the reasons why Israel now is going to hit Gaza so hard is to make up for what happened. Because of the level of failure that occurred, the current government will stamp their feet and layseige to Gaza. I’m sure they will hope people forget all that occurred on day 1.

  18. I don’t know if i am just remembering it like this, but it seems to me almost every big violent event like this, it comes out after that there was some warnings beforehand.

    This doesn’t prove incompetency by Netanyahu himself. It could be the lower echelons of Israeli intelligence chose to ignore or disregard for whatever reason. But either way if Egypt warned or not, it’s a massive failure by Israeli intelligence.

  22. 3 days is about the notice I would expect you would need to gather and organize the 1500 flip flop soldiers. The secret would have been out the minute the full mobilization started. THe attack had to have been organized by 3-4 guys and just blasted out in a matter of days. No way more than 5 guys could have kept this a secret.

    Alternatively Israel just always has a plethora of attack intelligence and they just fucked up majorly like 9/11.

  31. If this is true I’m curious what would have been different? They could have been more on guard I suspect. They could not have taken preemptive action to offensively stop it without the world shitting on them I suspect.

    Either way Netanyahu will be done after this is finished. Golde Meir was done after she fixed the problem of her day with the Hand of God mission.
