  1. Israel don’t really need military aid though. They just need to not be asleep at their border.

  2. Israel doesn’t nearly need as much material support as Ukraine does. It seems like the main thing they need is allied presence to deter Hezbollah, Iran, Syria, etc from joining in.

Side note: Do you think it’s possible that Mossad knew about the plans but used it as a “Pearl Harbor” moment? This is pure speculation, I just have a hard time believing such a competent organization dropped the ball this badly.

  3. A valid concern, and likely the entire reason this has happened. Wouldn’t be surprised if moscovia was egging them on in the background to interfere with support.

Let’s hope level heads prevail… Any support Israel does require should be more than capably provided on top of aid for Ukraine, they’re far better off in that regard.

  4. And if one still doesn’t believe there is not strategic collusion, if not out-and-out cooperation between ne’er-do-wells like the Kremlin and their fellows in Tehran and elsewhere, in shaping narratives and timing actions, they need to wake up from their naive slumber.

Until these modern adversaries of Free peoples everywhere are referred to in a past tense, vigilance is required, if not the greatest exertions to ensure the pages of history are turned on them all.

  5. how does israel not have way more than they need, they’ve been hooked up for decades and should be self sufficient by now

  6. At least from the US side, it won’t detract. Israel has been a part of our defense budget for like 70 years. Much as I have *feelings* on supporting a country seemingly hell bent on smacking a hornets nest with a stick to start a war, it won’t affect our support of Ukraine.

Our support will continue. The war for Ukraine’s defense and sovereignty and right to exist is a far more consequential war for the entire existence of western democracies and the precedent that the outcome sets which will impact us all through the rest of this century.

Isreal and Iran have been going at it for decades and frankly NONE of this is even remotely surprising. My exact response when my buddy updated me on what is happening (I’m abroad right now and periodically off grid) was “I’m surprised it took this long.”

Russia, though? Sorry no you can’t just invade your fucking neighbor IN EUROPE and genocide their entire culture and have everyone be okay with that. Because 1: don’t shit where you eat, 2: this is not a century where imperialist bullshit is sustainable, and 3: nobody wants the USSR back and we sure as fuck don’t want to send our kids to fight and die in a war their great grandparents already fought and died for.

  7. Putin is trying anything to save face…including throwing the Middle East into a major conflict as a distraction!

  8. Israel produce their own domestic western military hardware. Also Israel is fighting a counterinsurgency campaign; not a peer on peer conflict. Aside from humanitarian Israel shouldn’t need military aid (unless things escalate future). Ukraine on the other hand doesn’t produce a lot of western standard equipment, and are fighting a peer on peer conflict. Therefore military equipment priority should go to Ukraine still.

  9. As the Russians can attest, it doesn’t take a lot of resources & technical know-how to bomb heavily concentrated civilian areas. Just keep shooting until you’ve killed your quota.
