So i bought the DYU D3+ on kaufland from a private seller, who has clearly written that this bike is a “pedelec” and is “allowed on Road traffic”. When i got the bike, it worked without pedals too, with throttle. I was still confused because i didn’t have alot of knowledge about ebikes. I did a little bit research, and the DYU official website said their ebikes are totally legal in Germany, and you dont even need a license plate or helmet for them and they are considered normal bikes. So i just used it as normal, but after some time, my friend was riding the bike and police stoppwd him to check what it was, and they told me this bike needs a license plate and took it till i bought a plate, but after two hours, they came back and gave my bike, and said they dont know if the bike is even legal in Germany so we needed to give it back or get it checked. I did a bit more research and normal websites and people are saying this bike is illegal on road traffic, but the official company and seller says its not. And when i talked to the seller, he started talking about removing the throttle and changing the bike, which i dont want to do. When i asked him to take it back and he had given a false description, he started making excuses. When i talked to Kaufland, they warned him and he said he will send me a certificate which says its legal, when he sent it to me i saw it and it literally says do not ride it in traffic. I still have time to talk to paypal, do you think i would be able to get my money back and return this bike or have i lost my 500€? Im actually new to Germany and I didn’t really knew about all the laws, i asked a few people and did my research but still got mistaken, because of the guy selling product with wrong information.

Maybe even the same seller. If he refuses to take it back, file a dispute with PayPal. He used a false description, the product does not have the characteristics = you cannot drive it on German streets.

I just wish Kaufland as a marketplace platform would yeet these bandits into orbit.
