Israel ‘has a right’ to withhold power and water from citizens in Gaza – Starmer

  1. A former human rights lawyer doesn’t think Palestinians in Gaza deserve protection from war crimes, hmm…

  2. What an odd about-turn from Starmer. He was quite consistent on international policy usually, even willing to condemn crimes from allies, and was a strong proponent for referring Russias crimes in Ukraine to the ICC. For him to suddenly defend a clear war crime is just … not a good look. Is this posturing for the election?

  3. “Right” is a weird term here. They are at war. Why would you provide for your enemy in war? The point is to kill him.

Hamas fucked with Israel in the most horrofic ways. Why would Israel make life comfortable for those who decapitate their babies and rape their women?

The 2.3 million people of Gaza are free to take out the 50k Hamas base fighters. They put them in power and cheer on their campaigns, so they own it

When it is about your survival, going down in starvation or topling Hamas, you better move against them and bring in new managment.

Hamas is eager and thrilled to die anyway, they can’t wait to go to the other side, so let them have it and have it good. Their stuff is also up for plunder.

It is up to the citizens of Gaza to decide if they want to go down with Hamas or stick around on earth longer.

  4. Well yeah would you want to provide your neighbor with food and water after they killed your family. Its not Israels jobs to provide them with anything.

  5. This [video](https://youtu.be/1qGewRDWJGo?feature=shared) fron 2019 is a bit long, but it explains clearly and eloquently how it is possible that so many in the hard-left are now sympathetic to Hamas and how deep passionate hatred to Israel became respectable and normalized.

    The intellectuals must repent.

  6. Why doesn’t Egypt provide them water and electricity? Why would Israel do it, while they fire rockets at us all the time, and now massacred 1200 of us?

Also, they can very easily get their water and electricity back. All they need to do is to return the hostages. All 200 of them.

  7. The west and complicity in Israel’s crimes against humanity, name a better duo.

  8. Has a right to kill civilians including children tho?

Not sure what is a good solution here. Maybe some kind of filtration system for all the Gaza citizens? It sounds bad as well… It is a very difficult situation for everyone involved. Excluding hamas – they achieved their goal. They don’t care about human lives at all.

  9. The equivalency between horrific terrorists and innocent people of Gaza and/or Israel is evil.

  10. War crime?

Hamas is not Palestine. This is literally a extermination or decimation of the population.

UK, US, France need to step in.

  11. There are more objections to Israel’s war crimes within the US and even in Israel itself than EU. I wonder what makes EU back this humanitarian crisis unquestionably.

  12. The irony.

The “victim” is cutting power and water.

    Israel is ruled by psychopaths.

  13. Is this guy even a human being? The lizard energy is too strong.

  14. Keep in mind, Starmer is a human rights lawyer. That is now defending collective punishment, which is a war crime.

  15. Of course they do. They are the ones who provide it.

  16. Starmer is too scared of having labour associated with antisemitism, he does not want the Corbyn backlash to be attached to labour. His response is obviously disappointing and morally wrong. But I can completely see the british right wing media trying to twist any nuanced position on Palestine into an antisemitism accusation.

  17. Also check out his answer on what working class means. He’s trying so hard to stay away from taking any stance on anything that he inadvertently does.

  18. Give our hostages back and get electricity and water. Very simple.

  19. International law = Europe and only Europe wanting desperately to hang ourselves by doing “the right thing”

Wake up people, the right thing is just a bunch of roseflowery dreams invented by people who had no idea what they were talking about. The reason the UN is such a joke, is because they’re not chasing after anything ***real*** they’re chasing after an ***ideal.*** The problem is that, that ideal is in direct contrast to human nature.

You can’t just “wish” humanity to become a different animal.

The US gives no shit to international law in reality.

  20. This is objectively the case. Sieges are legal. What isn’t legal is preventing civilians from leaving a siege. War crimes are not just ‘anytime something bad happens to civilians during a war’. You are allowed to besiege enemy forces, and if they embed themselves along civilian populations that means besieging those civilian populations.

  21. Israel have the right to deal with those terrorists as they see appropriated.
