  1. A toxic culture of bullying in the Tartan Tories – see Ian Blackford even as far back as 2015 when he campaigned in the way he did against Charles Kennedy.

The SNP and its fanbase likes to call Labour Red Tories but what does this make them?

  2. She thinks there isn’t a toxic and bullying culture in the Conservative Westminster group? Boy this could be a wild ride.

Sounds like she was about to lose her selection contest and she jumped before she was pushed.

  3. “Hmm, the SNP is in a right mess. I know, I’ll join the Tories”.

    What a bizarre choice.

  4. The SNP does look a mess… but the Tories are far worse.

  5. SNP Westminister party has had some number of scandals and resignations for only less than 50 mps since 2015.

  6. > The MP claimed previously that she had been “ostracised” by the SNP after speaking out over the handling of allegations against former Westminster chief whip Patrick Grady.
At the time, Dr Cameron did not rule out standing down and triggering a by-election if she did not win the SNP nomination.
The MP, who was challenged by party staffer Grant Costello, had been due to find out the results of the selection contest on Thursday.
SNP sources have told the BBC she was expected to lose.

The previous party leadership (Ian Blackford) were adamant in thier support for Patrick Grady when he sexual assaulted a member of staff

I’m surprised the new leadership of Stephen Flynn supports unseating an MP who opposes sex offenders.

    >Cameron is keen to emphasise that she was publicly critical of Patrick Grady, but over the last four-five years has become increasingly defensive about how she’s voted in Westminster: she broke the SNP’s general policy of abstaining on English only matters to vote against a ban on protests outside of women’s healthcare facilities, she voted against reforming abortion services in Northern Ireland and she called on Alister Jack to intervene on GRA reform after it was passed by the Scottish Parliament.

  8. What an absolute kick in the nuts for her voters.

The Tories didn’t even come second in her constituency – they came third behind Labour. And they came third in the election before that as well. In fact, the last time they finished somewhere other than third was when they finished fourth behind the Lib Dems.

They don’t want to be represented by a Tory MP and they have repeatedly voted to reject Tory policies. She knows that and she doesn’t care.

Her main political positions have been promoting transphobia and taking a very extreme position on abortion (voting to keep it illegal in Northern Ireland, voting against restrictions on abortion vigilantes to harass and threaten women outside abortion clinics) so I can see why she’d want to join the Tories. But if she had a shred of decency she would stand down and run for the Tories in a by-election!

  9. If she cared about her constituents she would have gone independent.

    She only cares about herself.

  10. Says she was having mental health issues. Seems accurate

  11. “This frying pan is too hot – I’m gonna jump into that fire!”

  12. Doesn’t wait to be de-selected by the SNP so defects to the Tories turning her back on every belief she stands for, will last about a year until the SNP take her seat back at the general election.

  13. She’s religious, so she will fit right in. The Church of England used to be called the Tory Party at prayer, they follow more prophets now, but are just as pious.

  14. Well, the Tory’s are putting out new deck chairs on the Titanic…

  15. This sort of thing should automatically trigger by election.
