Hi, first of all, yeah…I know: “Nobody in their right mind would come to Helsinki in November. Except you, you badass. Welcome”. In November it’s my birthday and to do something different I would visit and see Finland (Helsinki in this case, it’s around the first weeks) for the first time (I would be there for about 3 days). Something to add as well, I will travel with a girl that I’m casually dating (so, things to do not alone is the best thing)

I have been reading a few things like this:

*Also, I have thought that a FreeWalking Tour could be nice.*

Now, plenty of times such guides tend to mention “tourist traps” (so to say), what would be **your** recommendations as locals that we should not miss (if it was you the ones going, that you would not want to skip)? Let it be either a museum to visit, a specific place to go to eat (vegetarian options included), having a coffee, etc.

On top of that, do you recommend any cool spot in Helsinki to watch the dawn and/or dusk in November?

Thanksss a lot in advance!

  1. It’s very possible/likely you can’t watch dawn or dusk due to clouds, there has been novembers where there actually wasn’t any sun visible at all in the whole month. But if the weather is nice then Suomenlinna is the best place. IMO the best thing to do is walk around nice neighborhoods such as kruunuhaka, punavuori, kallio or töölö and get cozy in a coffeshop or bar. I don’t really have any must-do attractions expect maybe Oodi-library.

If you can you should get a airbnb/hotel with a private sauna. It’s very nice to warm up in your own place after a rainy november day, especially with a girl you like. Public saunas are nice too but very different experience.
