  1. Her poor family. Hope a man in his 50s never sees the light of day again

  2. Thinking of Tina’s loved ones today. My heart goes out to them.

  3. How did it take almost 7 years for the remains to come to light? Poor lady.

  4. Is she the one who’s husband was constantly in the media talking about how he definitely had nothing to do with her disappearance?

    Seems very quiet now….

  5. So how did the gardai miss this when they searched years ago? I know they didn’t dig then but there must have been some sign of disturbed ground or new concrete or whatever.

  6. I’m shocked but don’t know why as this outcome was likely.

  7. I wonder what came up to make them check there after 6 and half years

  8. It’s insane to me that they found after seven years the remains of someone missing at their own house! Not down the bog, over the hills, a river. Her house.

The person who is capable of doing this was free for the last seven years.

  9. No fkn way. I remember seeing photos and videos from inside the home when she was first reported missing – she was there the whole time?!

  10. The biggest shock for me is that she disappeared in 2017. If you’d asked me before reading the article I’d have said she disappeared 2 years ago.

  11. Gosh, that is dreadful for the family but at least they have closure.

This will become a true crime podcast within a few years if what we are all assuming happened actually happened.

  12. Desperately sad. At least it’s some closure for the family.

  13. Please, I am begging you all, there are monsters living not far from you who will lie endlessly, almost possessed and with the belief they did no wrong, yet they rape and murder.

Never, ever believe that some sound fella you know would never do that. You have no idea of the atrocious shit people will go to the ends of the earth to hide.

  14. > The upgrading of the investigation, the arrest and property search were all triggered after Gardaí reviewed the case file in light of the receipt of new intelligence several weeks ago into Tina’s disappearance.

    > Detectives have refused to comment on the new information for operational reasons but one source indicated that it was “significant.”

    > This information had targeted the entire Garda search effort – with specific sections of the Youghal property being examined as a result.

    > It is understood that the search operation was meticulously planned for weeks by Gardaí.
