• Germany’s Defense Ministry said it agreed to an Israeli request to use up to two of five Heron TP combat drones that are currently leased by the German military, and were already in Israel for the training of German servicepeople.
• Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said in Brussels that Israel has requested ammunition for warships, a request that will now be discussed.
• Chancellor Olaf Scholz told the German parliament that he has asked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to inform Germany of any needs, “for example the treatment of wounded.”
• “At this moment, there is only one place for Germany — the place at Israel’s side,” Scholz told lawmakers. “Our own history, our responsibility arising from the Holocaust, makes it a perpetual task for us to stand up for the security of the state of Israel.”
• Scholz also said that Germany will issue a formal ban on activity by or in support of Hamas.
• Germany has suspended development aid for the Palestinian areas, though it is keeping up humanitarian help.

Oh, were gonna overlook Israeli war crimes again arent we? Im glad were cracking down on the pro-Hamas “protests” (fuck em), and its good that were supporting the Israeli people, but I dont agree that we should support the government blindly, especially as its becoming clearer and clearer that theyre engaging in widespread war crimes.
I just hope that at some point my government, and by extension the people, take a good hard look inwards and ask themselves why it is that we deem Palestinian lives specifically to be so worthless.
I’ve seen palestinians doing the same murderous actions i’ve read about in history books, but this time with the cheering of millions of terrorist supporters spread around the globe.

The support for Israel will evaporate in a week, and everyone will hate them again as more dramatic images come from the Gaza Strip. But, ultimately, they now have no choice but to defeat Hamas. Hamas resides in an area with an average density of 6500 persons/sq. km that rises to over 15.000 in Gaza or Jabalia. There is no way to make the upcoming war not bloody without losing thousands of their soldiers. No country would do that. And it is even worse in Gaza, where Hamas actively hides among civilians.
I am sorry for the innocents who are about to lose their lives, going to be wounded or lose their homes over the upcoming weeks. But, the truth is, that an alternative ain’t coming. Hamas won’t hand over the hostages or surrender. It would mean nullifying the leverage they created with the recent attacks. Israel cannot revert tot the status quo, as it would embolden Hamas to repeat 7/10. And peace is impossible as both sides reject any reasonable compromise (Israel clings to the settlement, Palestinians to moving 5.000.000 of their people inside Israel proper*).
*Before people start banging on about this BS, none of the major post-WW2 population displacements (Eastern Germany, Sudetenland, Dobrudzha, Op Vistula, Cyprus, Pakistan, etc.) have ever been reversed. This one won’t either.

Stop meddling outside of europe’s domain. We don’t owe the state of Israel shit, or the state of Gaza and their rulers for that matter. They should fight this out on their own.
Europe’s only concern is the protection of it’s borders and internal security. Plus outside trade relation to enable a good standard of living at home.
Internal security concerns dictate a huntdown of Hamas members in Germany, Europe at large, and speedy deportation with force. We don’t want them here, they can go back to their shithole as they love islamic rule so much it seems.

I agree with Israel’s right to protect itself from Hamas, who are despicably evil. That being said I am also very uncomfortable with the idea of supplying Israel with arms given its use of force and oppression against Palestinian civilians.

I afraid that diverting the attention from Ukraine to Israel for Germany would imperil Ukrainian war efforts against Russia. I think let Israel do their job in destroying Hamas because Israeli armed forces are far more equipped into crushing Hamas than Ukrainian forces to Russian forces.

Israel funded Hamas for years, and a number of intelligence failures/strategic decisions helped Hamas deliver their attack on the scale that it did. To me, supporting Israeli security would mean addressing those issues, but in reality it will mean that Germany looks the other way whilst civilians are bombed.
Providing humanitarian help to someone after you’ve just watched your ally bomb feels like an oxymoron. And I fear any genuine attempts to protest Israeli aggression against civilians will now be equated to a pro-Hamas stance.
This is saddening honestly. Israel has enough weapons. If there is support for Hamas, it should be condemned. I just hope this crack down does not include legitimate support of the Palestinian people.
Perhaps I am being too dramatic right now, but to me this seems like an extremely uneven “war”. A lot of lives are at stake, and if anything UN – especially Germany, the US and Britain – should offer to control Gaza instead of Israel. I feel like a more neutral part could help build Gaza up, just as Germany was after WW2.
It’s a difficult situation. Human rights will be violated at all sides. Hamas allegedly will store weapons, hide fighters in schools and hospitals. Which instantly makes those schools and hospitals targets for the IDF. Then afterwards we will see the videos and pictures of civilians who got caught in the crossfire.
And tensions will rise too in western nations. Elections are coming soon in my country and i am wondering how much these events will influence the elections.
Every country with a moral backbone should follow.

Yesterday everybody whinged at comments rejecting to cut aid to all Palestinians and warning Israel that cutting basic needs is a war crime as pro Hamas.
Today everyone whinges at supporting Israel’s right to exist and retaliatate against the largest terrorist act in its history to neutralize that threat as being pro Israel.
