Niger went down the wrong path and now the people will suffer because people will starve and get sick and that help isn’t coming anytime soon. People have no morals and really don’t care about their own peoples. Only power.
So I’m guess the Nigerians aren’t going to invade and the junta effectively won.
There are also rumours the US could be forced to leave its military base in Niger. Which it uses for drone strikes and recon against terrorists groups in Sahel.
I see no problems with this
Africa to the africans. Let them take care of their own shit, let them decide their own fate. No more intervention or aid.
Let them do as they please.
How dare you not be a colony?? We will no longer give you ~~bribes~~ support.
How nice of Niger to help French save money
This is why I cannot take any talk of a “multi polar world” seriously. Countries like Brazil and Nigeria are always droning on about how they want to be more involved in foreign affairs and respected like the US/EU/China, but when the chips are down they do absolutely nothing. Everybody wants to be a leader until it’s time to make hard decisions, and everybody wants to chastise the west until they realize they need it to solve a problem. Even when it’s a simple, straightforward issue like this coup, the global south has no ability to take charge and try and solve it.
Good. Let their new masters (Russia and China) prop them up. Why do we need to give aid to hostile regimes?
