Sub model maker here, one of our own asked me to build his father’s ancestral home.
I worked off Civil War era photos and hopefully I captured the look and feel of the cottage.
He is giving it to his father today for his 70th Birthday.

Lovely job. Before I read your description it reminded me of a cottage from an old newspaper drawing of a father leaving his cottage with his pike . The drawing was called At the Rising of the moon
