The fact that people think that Abbas is the president of Gaza and is of Hamas shows how little they know about the conflict. Abbas is the president of the West Bank which is governed by the Fatah party. The Fatah party used to be at war with Israel in the past but they signed a peace treaty in the 90’s. Nowadays they are allies of Israel.

This guy is a piece of crap generally, but he is the President of the PLA and PLO. He is not, as far as I know, affiliated with Hamas or what is going on in Gaza. Some of the comments seem to equate the two so I thought it worthwhile to put it out there. It remains to be seen whether Gaza coordinated any of this with the PLO or other Palestinian organizations.
