Zelenskyy on European Strategic Autonomy: “Europe must be ready to be autonomous. This is not just about the USA […] Europe is a large independent market of 600 M people, a continent capable of living autonomously and that should be capable of defending itself autonomously.”

  1. Weirdly enough, what Trump was saying, and what the current administration in the US is also quietly echoing. That doesn’t mean the US has to leave NATO, which it won’t – those were clearly just empty threats. But the 80 year peace is most likely coming to an end. Europe needs to start spending more and gearing up for war. Nothing good lasts forever.

  2. Europe can’t even get its people to have kids or spend anything on defense. At best in 100 years Europe will be minor power state with massive internal issues and conflicts, just like the mid-east.

  3. Exactly this! Why should the US fund and provide for Europe’s security when most of Europe isn’t even willing to spend 2% of their GDP on their own defence? If Europe doesn’t step up to the plate the US should leave NATO! We will always be friendly to the EU and we will always have your backs but this shit has got to stop! You can down vote me… but you know this is true! The same goes for Canada! If your not willing to dish out the 2%… your on your own! Please don’t give me your BS and all around excuses for suckling the US tit while chugging your cold beer! You have twice our population! The US is getting tired of being the world police… especially when it’s a thankless job! We simply don’t want it anymore! All we want is peace! If ya’ll don’t understand peace through strength… not peace through the US strength… then there is nothing we can do for you! Hopefully ALL NATO members will get up to speed sooner rather than later before its too late! The tides are a changing!

  4. I really applaud, how he can adapt so skillfully in his speeches to changing situations. He has an incredible situational awareness following one guiding star: “What’s the next step to bring Ukraine closer to victory?” And if the US becomes less relieable, then he focuses on European indepence in security matters.

Next to him many politicians, but most of all Putin, look like brickheads. Only Trump is more flexible in narrating reality, but for the wrong, selfish reasons. While the Selenskyj is a true servant of his people, Trump just makes people his servants. Why didn’t get Trump supporters this obvious difference? I guess Trump and Putin have at least one thing in common: they talk about the pride of their nation, while thinking about their personal power and wallet.

  5. He is absolutely right, especially in terms of defence. As a British citizen is pains me to see the lack of foresight and defence spending of successive U.K governments. Politicians have consistently ignored advice from the military and have slashed spending, disbanded regiments etc. I think I am right in saying that the U.S Marine Corps alone has more soldiers, tanks, ships, helicopters and planes than the entire combined army, navy and air force. The war in Ukraine has changed nothing we still are delusional and reckless.

  6. #[US Grand Strategy: NATO, Alliances, & Ukraine – how alliances underpin American influence](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUL8EvZkfEY)

For those wondering, “what does America get out of NATO?” this video answers that and many other questions.

Worth giving a watch before you form an opinion on any of this 👍

  7. Those 600MM people have to make enough money to fund a defense and arms market the size of the US’s.

Admirable goal but unlikely until a majority of Europe adopts a more American mentality toward warfare, standing armed force projection, and still manage to provide for all the things that make most of Europe admirable in terms of social contract.

  8. Trump: fuck NATO, we good alone.

NATO: FU, we’ll increase military spending and send cruise missiles/tanks before you!

    USA: ha, check out HIMARS.

The majority of civilians in the world: “Wtf is going on?”

Ready for ww3 folks? Every country that has nukes is too afraid to send them, because of retaliation/ global fallout. But absolutely everything else is fair game.

It’s only a matter of time, our 80+ years of “peace” are coming to an abrupt end. Get some tinned food and some tin foil in order to read this post 😂 look after yourselves and others not involved in this shit, if you have the chance.

  9. Couldn’t agree more. Especially if that orange president returns. Let Trump fight China alone.
