The biggest mistake is assuming all Palestinians are Hamas! Three year olds are the same all over the world. And they are the victims.They aren’t political. Killing them is. My heart goes out to the all innocents in this nightmare. Hamas doesn’t represent anything but destruction.They are serial killers, monsters, subhumans.
If the govt disconnected your apartment building from electricity water and food just because one of the residents in the building commited a murder im sure you would cry foul. Then when they hear that they will just level the building so you cant speak.
She’s right but Hamas also hides among the civilian population for this very reason. They do it specifically so opposing forces have to essentially commit war crimes in order to target them.
I don’t know what the answer is when it comes to how to deal with Hamas, but I know that we aren’t going to find it easily… and a whole lot more people are going to die in the meantime.
Remember that time Hamas dug up the water pipes that Brussels donated and installed to help with water and sewage issuesand turned them into rocket tubes?

Remeber that time when Hamas recieved hundreds of millions of dollars inforeign aid that could have went to infastructure and to better their people but instead put it towards terrorism and rockets?
Israel is not problem here people but please, let our political betters who are incredibly out of touch explain the situation to us.
I also don’t want to hear about violations of international law. You know whats’s a violation of international law? Killing thousands of civilians, beheading babies, raping women, killing kids in front of their parents, and putting military installations inside moques, hospitals, schools.

collective punishment against “protected persons” only apply to occupied territory. If the world wish to approve the occupation of Gaza, and recognize Israel as the ruling authority with complete control over Gaza, then yes, that would be “collective punishment”. But since Gaza is still technically rule by Hamas, it doesn’t apply. It’s like blaming the red army for not sending food and water into berlin to help civilians during the siege of Berlin…obviously that would make no sense. Once Berlin is occupied, then they would have the responsibility to keep the civilians alive and their actions would fall under collective punishment.
You would think a politician would be educated enough to know the exact law before quoting it, or at least run it through one of the lawyers on their staff. But this is 2023, so everyone just parrot whatever they read somewhere at some point and think it sounds right.

People need to remember Hamas is the elected party of Gaza, even if it was all the way back in 2006, they are still the elected party. The last pole that came out Hamas was still favored by over 50% of the people in Gaza. There are over 2 million people in the Gaza area if they want this all to end they have to turn over the people that are connected to Hamas, it’s that simple. Israel has already stated they are at war with Hamas the ruling party of Palestinian, and at war you don’t supply your enemies it’s that simple.
Egypt is free to provide food, water and electricity across its border with Gaza in solidarity with its “arab brothers”
Why should a sovereign state provide resources to their wartime enemy? Please make it make sense.

Does anyone else remember learning as early as pre-school that two wrongs don’t make a right? I’m glad that she spoke up. What happened in Israel is horrible. What’s been happening in Gaza for a long time to the Palestinians is horrible. No one in power making these decisions to kill indiscriminately is on the side of humanity or the people they claim to represent and serve the interest of. They are either religious zealots blinded by faith in ancient hocus pocus and the universal religious “chosen people” mentality (that’s not specifically aimed at Israel or Judaism at all, it’s universal by nature of believing your god is the real god), or they are self serving psychopaths who only care about power and their own delusions of grandeur. Or a combination of both.
The world is not okay. Bad times are coming that will shatter the collective normalcy bias that most people cling to for comfort. I wish all of humanity good fortune in the wars and strife yet to come.

She isn’t wrong but Hamas ripped up water pipes to use as rockets. If we want to help normal Palestinians we need to get rid of Hamas.
Hamas rules over Gaza. Israel declared war on the regime. Israel is no way obliged to provide services to the country they are at war with. We don’t expect it in Ukraine. We don’t expect it here. If Russian forces entrench on civilian areas, we accept that Ukraine can strike these areas. War is war. What Hamas did – sending over 1200 people to murder civilians – is an act of war. Israel is justified in prioritizing destroying Hamas over protecting civilian lives, though it should take reasonable measures to do so. What Hamas did was not an act of resistance, it was a demonstration of genocidal intent. We cannot ask any country to tolerate this behavior.
We did the same in Germany, Italy, Japan during WW2.
She’s absolutely right. Children, the elderly and hospital patients not allowed to have water is a war crime.

Unfortunately, Israel needs to wipe out Hamas – Hamas shields themselves with civilians, so civilians will be collateral damage. Israel needs to act, no other choice here, unfortunate situation for civilians in Gaza. Hamas should surrender, but they won’t.
She’s right! It’s gross that more people aren’t calling out Israel for this. I just refuse to believe the entire population of Gaza and the West Bank are members of Hamas. So why does the entire population suffer?
She does a lot of complaining with no real-world solutions.
If Palestinians love their children, they wouldn’t let Hamas rule the roost. It’s that simple. They could’ve dealt with Hamas a long, long time ago, but they didn’t and they’ve let it go long enough to indicate that they won’t. That’s on them, not Israel. Those kids are dead because of Hamas and the complicity other Gaza residents had for them. They deserve it, as much as I hate to say it, for all the same reasons the entirety of Afghanistan deserves it. You don’t want to fight for freedom? Fine. We will spill the blood, but it’s still on your hands.
All anti-bds laws must go. Our government should not be able to prevent peaceful resistance. Ending apartheid is a global struggle.
Hamas has been turning fuel meant for their power plants into fuel for rockets. Pipes for water delivery into rockets. Blaming Israel for Palestinian lack of access to power and water is myopic.
Exactly, there are people locked in there , children who did nothing wrong but lose the birth location lottery, they are being denied food, water, medicine, electricity and they have had thousands of bombs dropped on them. It is not right, not moral and not justified.
