  1. This also means there will be no obligation to insure electric bikes for use on the roads. So I guess it’s free play for kids and the TikTok people running these things chipped to run 50 mph. How you gonna prove they’re wrong after they can just drive away after an incident without any plate number?

  2. Thank god. I feared they would put license plates on pedestrians to make sure car brains get out of legal trouble…

  3. So it means throttle E-Bikes max 25 kpm/h don’t need insurance ?

  4. What exactly is your argument here? That the rest of us should be punished because a few people break the law?

  5. So the delivery E-Bikes that look like Vespas can still go on the bike lane?

Those belong on the street and not being treated the same way as normal bicycles.

  6. Common sense ruling. They are also awesome, costs 0.1c per kilometer and saves society quite a bit of money. One kilometer driven by a car costs 18c to the society, one km with regular cycle is 11c.. saved. Ebike is somewhere in between, its use is very close to regular bike but of course manufacturing has some negative environmental impacts.. but even those are in the scale of 10-20 times less than EVs. It is like taking the best things about cycling; when you are going downhill on a shallow gradient, without headwind. Amazing in the snow too.

  7. Nice.

Would be cool if the max motor power was higher than 250w. Especially for cargo bikes or hills, that’s just not much power.

We had a route in Munich where our box bike really struggled up one decent sized hill.
