A chara, many of you probably know that Halloween is originally an Irish and Scottish festival called Samhain. The Helsinki Harps Folk Group will perform a traditional Irish Strawboy Performance (mummers play) at Teatteri Tuiki’s new venue in Malmi on November 4th. It will involve Irish folk music and traditional Irish pre-Christian costumes and traditions. Very similar to Kekri both aesthetically and spiritually, less with the plastic masks, pumpkins and candy, more with the animal bones, turnips and straw. Come one come all!
