Just hoping someone clever can identify the shining light. Before any of you smart arses comment, I’m not talking about the streetlamp. Is it a planet, star, satellite? Thanks!

Ah I see you too were torn from the duvet to let the dogs out to water the grass this cold cold morn
Also a trick I learned in college…if it blinks it’s a star. If it shines solid it’s a planet. Possibly Venus.
If it’s that bright then it’s usually Venus.
Depends what direction you’re looking in. If you’re looking westward, it’ll probably be Jupiter. If eastward, Venus.
That’s either Venus and Jupiter which are especially bright at the moment. Jupiter especially so as it’s almost in opposition.
Been lovely to see lately.

It’s Venus. If you follow it closely enough you can see it in the day, and even make that it’s a little crescent, not just a point of light, but an actual other world we can see in the sky.
And Venus was her name, Wow!
The planet Venus has some interesting mythology:

If you catch it at the right angle in darker conditions and the light appears green it is Venus. Also if you use any of the star map apps you should be able to confirm it 🙂
You technically see a planet everyday. 😉
For a fun fact, Venus is also referred to as the Morning Star, I presume because of exactly this!
