  4. Here’s my historical UCB take on this: **We’re all going to die. *This isn’t the first extinction event of many.* Islands like Tonga and Easter Island will be swallowed by the sea. Countless species will go extinct. *We* will go extinct. Trillions (including bugs) will suffer and die. Cockroaches will solve thumbs and take our place.**

    The earth has enough time for cockroaches to hyper-evolve. We’re really a drop in the bucket. Sit back and chill out.

  7. The hate she gets is unjustified . Her message is good for humanity that is all that matters but people just gang upon her thinking it’s funny.

  10. I’ve got a relative that dislikes her but even said “I don’t always recycle because I don’t do enough to cause the planet any harm”. Industries do significantly more harm and recycling is just a way to make us do the bare minimum. They’re not wrong about industries but does this mean we all do nothing? If the world falls apart do we blame game our way to the inevitability?

    As a society we need real leadership and sometimes we only get those inspirations from outspoken annoying people.

    People of today are inundated with celebrities or the self-obsessed influencers or clout chasers. Maybe she is annoying, maybe she’s doing what she can with what little she has to change things for the better.

  13. She’s a fake, a puppet by her parents. Imagine refusing to go to school, parents would be mad at you. This is all for news and press and fame, she gets donations and prize money for being a ‘humanitarian’… how about stoping rich people fly private planes for 30 minute journeys that equate to a lifetime of an ordinary person carbon use… this kid got bad vibes for sure, definitely a fake

  18. It’s funny – when she was younger, everyone on reddit would defend her stance, saying that she’s a child raising awareness about climate change. even if she was a prop from a wealthy family to push an agenda, it’s the morally right agenda to push.

    now that she’s a young adult…people are starting to realize she doesn’t bring anything else beyond “awareness,” and the discussion around her stunts are almost entirely about her as divisive figure, not about climate change
