While I support Israel to destroy the Hamas terrorists, this has to be done with minimal cost to human life. Denying food, water and electricity to two million Palestinians during all this chaos is going to turn this situation into a humanitarian crisis without precedent.

What is impossible is for the UN to do something meaningful
So just go and do it yourself or tell the hamas to take care of their own citizens.
So they are wrong for trying to take out Hamas when the civilians are there and they are even more wrong for asking those civilians to not be there. So I’m guessing the only plan that is acceptable for Mr Borrell is doing absolutely nothing?.

Hamas is the organization responsible for this entire crisis. Israel is showing restraint.
But also when they leave.. there is no chance to defend their home. What will happen to their homes? Everybody will be displaced but still “alive”. I would rather die I guess.
Everyone expects this to be like the Princess Bride:
“So you’ll put down your rock, and I’ll put down my sword. And we’ll try to kill each other like civilized people?”
War is hell. It sucks. Hamas murders babies and then returns to hide in the shadows of the people and therefore Israel just has to sit there because there could be collateral damage? Nah – Hamas brought this on themselves and are now bringing it on their people. It’s horrible, but I don’t know what else a sovereign nation that is under CONSTANT threat of violence should do. I don’t want Palestinians to die. I can’t say Hamas feels the same, and that’s what is so fucked up. The Palestinians need to collectively overthrow Hamas (desperation may lead to that) and join their brothers in the West Bank by agreeing to allow the West Bank govt to rule them.
What qualifies mr Burrell to reach this conclusion? Having looked at his previous statement, he is not exactly neutral observer.
They are doing an ethnic cleansing. It is pretty obvious. They are unaliving everyone in Gaza, instead of limiting and targeting Hamas terrorists. Its like bombing an entire place because few of them are bad!

Why is it israel’s responsibility to evacuate the civilians effectively in an enemy country and not the enemy country. Hmmm
