Here is the punishment “The judge presiding over the upcoming damages trial against Rudy Giuliani said Friday she will tell jurors that the former Trump lawyer intentionally hid financial documents and other records in defiance of court orders.”
So basically the judge will tell the jurors that the scoundrel is a scoundrel.
It’s been great seeing his downfall.
I detested his actions post 9/11, using the tragedy for political points over and over and over again.
I read this as ‘fragrant disregard of court orders’. Which might also be the case.
From the article:
>In a five-page ruling, U.S. District Judge Beryl Howell said the move was necessary given “Giuliani’s continued and flagrant disregard of this Court’s August 30 Order that he produce financial-related documents concerning his personal and his businesses’ past and present assets” and other pertinent information.
So, any thoughts about whether this is because he’s just being petulant, or is it because those documents would show up even worse things?
Artificially deflating his net worth. Where have a I heard that before amongst his known associates.
You, too, might like to get on that good, “I’m-guilty-as-fuck-but-what-are-they-gonna-do-throw-me-in-jail-lol” tier of the American justice system.
But you probably don’t have the requisite villainy in you to ascend to it.
So best not to do treasonous shit, just to be safe.
For nonlawyers this is what is known as an inverse inference. It can basically decide whole elements of the non offending parties case. [https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adverse_inference](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adverse_inference)
Until the result is actual jail time for any of these clowns, fines don’t hurt them. They are just the cost of doing business. And people like Thomas’s owner billionaire will pay. Jail for a big bird like Rudy will get all the little birds to sing and then Stone, the enablers in Congress and the rest can go to jail too. Until they start going to jail, they will try again and again and again. Until they die, all go to jail , or Democracy dies.
Among all the other things I find I detest about Trump and his allies, this somewhat recent phenomenon of willfully violating court orders or subpoenas and even willfully breaking the law sets a disturbing precedent. It’s not just this Giuliani stuff. Even Congressional subpoenas are ignored. Even lower level people like Skeletor who violated the Hatch act 50 times said, “Let me know when the jail sentence starts.” because she knew nothing would happen.
If he’s not sitting in a cell, he’s not being punished.
If there is a god, lets all pray RG gets the RICO.
nothing will happen
Why did Rudy get jail time for disobeying a direct court order or contempt of court? He’s already claiming he’s broke he’s not going to pay a dam penny of what he owes he’ll drag it out in courts till he crooks
