Why don’t we just fine persistent non violent offenders a large fine they can only pay off by engaging in good behaviour. Like a social credit score system for villians? So if they want to continue being criminals they can never own a home, car, go on holiday or have any money except a bare minimum to survive on?
It wouldn’t suprise me if someone somewhere either went
“We’ll deal with that situation when we get there”
Or
“What if you just didn’t do anything; it’s not like prisoners are economically active”
Surely they would of warned the government of the time, not just Rishi. Misleading headline.
Maybe at the time he assumed the Tories would be out by now?
