  1. I hope that this is wrong. Putin can’t be rewarded for what he did. The west needs to wake the fuck up. Russia and radical Islam are a huge threat to them as well (like we see now with the protests in Europe & US).

  2. Unfortunately, I expected this frankly. While Zelenskyy’s speeches were lauded in the international media, here in Germany it seemed like he never thanked Germany (wrong, he did), but the outrage obsessed media focused on the negative stuff.

    Putin **cannot** win, but I fear the public of several influential countries are starting to shift against Ukraine. It’s an incredibly tough situation for the Ukrainians. Let’s hope they can turn it around.

  3. A lot is going to rest on the next presidential elections in the US. If the GOP win, there’s probably a not-insignificant risk that focus turns away from Ukraine, especially as the grass roots probably care more about what’s going on in Israel.

  4. It’s only a couple of years in though? Wars can take *decades*. I wouldn’t doubt it if this realistically went on for that long. Look at how complicated it is.

    And even when this war “ends,” that doesn’t mean the conflict does too. Donors had better dig in.

  5. Doesnt he know? If Ukraine asks for more weapons to end the war quicker they are ungrateful. And if they take too long to win and the countries helping them grow tired of helping it’s also their fault and they deserve it. Ukraine is always to blame either way.

  6. Supporting Ukraine is literally Bankrupting Russia of not only money but weapons/tanks/ammo etc etc. Will make them more pliable to western demands in the future. Its a no brainer to support Ukraine.

  7. Especially as there’s a new conflict to deal with.

    Russia -> Iran -> Hamas

  8. Exactly as Putin predicted. The people tire of a long war.

  9. this is precisely the moment where people should scream support and push representative to keep pushing for more support

  10. I really do hope that all that talk about supporting democracy, freedom, a country’s right to sovereignty, taking a stand against genocide and supporting Ukraine until victory wasn’t all fluff that Western politicians said when it was convenient to say it.

    Ukraine stopped the initial invasion when no one thought that it’d be possible and drove the russians out of the north, and not only that, but they did a significant counter offensive in Kharkiv and liberated Kherson. If we now start to backtrack when for the first time the Ukrainians counter a significant obstacle (the current counter offensive) then I don’t really know what sort of allies we really are.

    Ukraine has done nothing but thank their allies almost daily, but of course the rage baiting media usually doesn’t pick up on that. And when they say that they need X amount of certain weapons to do the job effectively, we criticise them when they aren’t pushing forward as effectively as we expected, even though not even nearly all of the weapons pledged have arrived. And at the same time we demand results as a condition to keep the weapons coming, it’s insane.

    The Ukrainians have proved themselves to be capable and willing, all we need to do is support them.
