  1. If enough Republicans support democrats could they be the speaker of a republican controlled congress?

  2. Thats one vote for Jefferies down. What like 9 to go?

  3. While unconfirmed, I read at least one account that there are 20~ Republicans from the Armed Services and Appropriations committees who will not support Jordan. I’d estimate that to be about the right number.

  4. Thank goodness someone is finally stepping away. Please more to follow

  5. Kind of surprised an Alabama republican is sounding reasonable but I’ll take it

  6. I would love if this led to enough Republicans leaving the party and agreeing to caucus with democrats giving them the speaker ship and majority.

  7. If you listen carefully you can hear a MAGA nut fill out the paperwork to primary this guy.

  8. This guy starts out by blaming Dems for this so I’m not sure how much applause he should get.

  9. I really think enough GOP will vote through Dem Hakeem Jeffries. The GOP who do that will have the Dems hail them as ‘bipartisan’ and being willing to work across the aisle. That is more important than all the BS the idiot flank spews. Sure, the loud, attention seeking whack jobs will throw a fit but, come election time the GOP who aren’t acting like tfg minions will do fine.

  10. Isn’t the vote based on the number of representatives present? Could some Republicans just not show up as a way to quietly support the Democratic nominee?

  11. He’s not offering to vote for Jeffries. He’s stating he’d make a deal for democrats to vote for a Republican other than Gym.

    >Rogers left a closed-door caucus session Friday and said Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries (R-NY) should state concessions needed to help the GOP.

Basically, he wants to know what he needs to say now and renege on later. Democrats learned their lesson when the Republican caucus broke their word on the government funding deal.

  12. Why rock that hair piece. Once I’m going bald I’m owning it lol.

  13. – Jordan is 55 votes from being Speaker
    – Scaliase was 20ish votes from being Speaker
    – McCarthy made Speaker by 1 vote
    – Jeffries is 5 votes from being Speaker

The writing is on the wall

  14. Work with the Democrats?

    Wow, there’s an idea!

Almost something a functional government might do?

  15. “The Dems have to work with us?”

No, they don’t at all. Let the Republicans swim with no life vest in the cesspool of an abhorrent, dysfunctional political climate that they themselves have created.

The REPUBLICANS have to compromise to get themselves out of this shitshow by demonstrating some actual leadership in lieu of unmitigated obstructionism.

  16. The Dems should float a list of Republicans they would, as a Caucus, agree to vote for just to see what happens.

  17. I can’t believe I’m alive to see David Bowie, stuffed crusted pizza, and the end of the Republican Party

  18. It’s really disgusting that you have to practically suck dick to make this Congress just do their jobs
