Laut der New York Times war die israelische Invasion im Gazastreifen für dieses Wochenende geplant, wurde jedoch um „einige Tage“ verzögert, teilweise aufgrund der bewölkten Bedingungen

  1. Hopefully gives some extra time for citizens to get out…somehow I doubt that many will be able to escape despite the increased time

  2. But Twitter told me Israel was going to kill everyone and would not give civilians any time to evacuate /s

  3. Will Hamas continue to car bomb fleeing citizens?

  4. Gaza Strip is almost entirely urban with many tunnels and bunkers that according to some reports goes all they way to Egypt. The more destruction leads to more places to hide and cover.

  5. “The channel coast is soaked in rain and fog. No jump tonight”

  6. Makes sense today we had heavy rain (heavy rain for israel)

  7. Looks like they’re stalling. They should stick to what they know – air strikes from F-16s. Historically their infantry has been incompetent relative to the funding their military receives smh

  8. Starving out Hamas for longer in a siege situation isn’t a bad military strategy. They aren’t eating or sleeping…always on the ready. Supplies dwindling

  9. Israel showing restraint when their enemies show none. I see you Israel. – a US citizen

  10. They’re delaying a few days to allow the Eisenhower CSG to get closer to the theater, on the idea that Iran and/or its proxies are likely to attempt to intervene.

  11. They want the clouds to pass so Israelis can get a good view of Palestinians getting blown up from their lawn chairs

  12. This is an evil plan and should be stopped. Israel is going to have the entire world turning against them when the civilian body count rises to such a level that all the current support will go up in literal smoke.

  13. Can anyone paste the article here? I ain’t fucking paying to read the article

  14. “Cloudy conditions” meaning most of the world powers told Israel behind the scenes that a civilian slaughter would not be tolerated… and they listened, because the support from the West is the only reason they can exist.

Once the people who wish to leave have left, I’m all for continued full military action. But just recklessly blowing up entire blocks of apartment buildings as they were doing was going to amount to a genocide pretty fast… Gaza is not that big of a territory and its very densely populated.

  15. IDF already stated that they weren’t going in immediately after the 24hr warning passed. Maybe IDF just doesn’t train in rainy weather… I’d assume this is just to keep Hamas guessing on when the planned invasion kicks off.

  16. Maybe also because the world is against their actions, huh, maybe?

  17. Israel elected hamas. It was because Israel withdrew from Gaza that caused hamas to win the next elections. The Palestinians saw that it was hamas terror that paid off. Not blaming Israel, but giving into terror just increases more terror.

  18. Honestly, kind of a blessing. It gives more time for the civilians to flee.

  19. Israel is known to use the media to play mind games with Hamas. Reminded me of the 2021 conflict.

    > On 14 May, Israel Defense Forces claimed to have troops on the ground and in the air attacking the Gaza Strip, although this claim was later retracted and followed with an apology for misleading the press. Israeli troops were reportedly told that they would be sent into Gaza and ground forces were reportedly positioned along the border as though they were preparing to launch an invasion.

    > That same day, the Israeli Air Force launched a massive bombardment of Hamas’ extensive underground tunnel network, which was known as “the metro”, as well as above-ground positions, reportedly inflicting heavy casualties. It was suspected that the reports of an Israeli ground invasion had been a deliberate ruse to lure Hamas operatives into the tunnels and prepared positions above ground to confront Israeli ground forces so that large numbers could then be killed by airstrikes.
