My car didn’t pass the technical inspection, because of three things:

1. The wheel chocks (aka “the triangles”) have apparently incorrect dimensions.
Car is a van with 16′ rims/tires. Triangles are 75x65x100 mm.

2. The fire extinguisher.
Expired on 07.2020, so that one’s on me.

3. Rust on the left side of the body.
I don’t understand how that can be harmful to me or others on the road, but here it is.

Communication was somewhat complicated, so I’m trying to get a better understanding by asking here.

Are there specific triangles for kaubiks or 16′ wheels?

Regarding the extinguisher, can they somehow get “updated” or people just buy new ones every time it’s due date?

About the rust issue, I thought of liming it with smth like sand paper and then apply some metallic paint, but I have no real clue how to fix that obv. (without paying an arm and a leg to a garage).
I guess it only needs to look better than be really fixed, but I’m not sure what’s expected from me really.
If anyone went through this particular one in the past, pls be so kind to share how you had it fixed so it passed the inspection.

NB. The car had the same triangles, extinguisher and rust (probably less of it, I reckon) for the past few years. Passed the control in that same place (and others) w/o any remarks on these.

  1. Extinguishers can get updated if they have not physically expired.

  2. 1. Don’t know about the triangles.

    2. You can update the extinguisher – even many of the inspection places do it. They just look at the pressure gauge and put a new sticker on it. About 10€.

    3. Regarding rust, it is my understanding that if the rust has penetrated through the panel, they wont let you through. Surface rust is ok. You can 1) go to bodyshop or 2) buy some automotive putty and glass fiber and just hide the problem. You can get spray for your car’s color code from Devori Kaubanduse.

There is a big-ass hole in the panel, that’s probably why you didn’t pass.

  3. 1. and 2. are not important and does not matter for getting a pass on inspection.
