American will absolutely prevent this from escalating, and the rest of the world will continue to blame everything bad on America meddling in other countries affairs.
Iran can do nothing, it has limited force projection and is under heavy sanctions.
None of the neighbours want any of this at all. No one has the money or real forces to do anything but fund the bad actors.
i hope they are not trying to avert it with appeasement, that really will send the wrong message and just avert it temporarily.
Maybe let it happen, if it’ll make all the terrorist groups get concentrated in one region, maybe that might make it easier to wipe them off with overall less collateral damage.

I don’t think Iran would take a war with israel. They would use their nuclear capabilities. They would have to because they are a small nation of 9 million, Iran is many times larger than them. The US would also have to join the war because we have american citizens in israel. We don’t want a war with iran, we aren’t issuing any threats. We oppose the regime and it’s involvement in the terror attacks. It’s support of the attacks, but we’re not taking action against iran militarily at this time. Don’t attack israel or help in this conflict. They have a right to defend themselves, which includes retaliation from attacks.
I’m still asking myself who wants what. That is what really defines all wars. Wars don’t _really_ happen over poor people killing other poor people. That’s a symptom not a cause. Usually it’s because a politician or industry wants something. Even religion isn’t a real cause of wars, it’s a story that motivates the poor.
So what is it? Oil, land, access to the Mediterranean? Who has what and who wants it? Closest thing I can think of is that we still depend on Middle Eastern oil and while some might want to seize it, the West wants to protect the stability of all factors that keep it flowing at predicable rates and prices.

It’d be pretty ironic if Biden ends his first term with a possible Israel/Iran conflict (which will inevitably pull the US into the middle east to act as support) despite everything he did for Iran.
From dragging his legs during the Mahsa Amani protests (my guy tried to avoid talking about it as much as possible) to lifting the sanctions on Iran (he was forced to re-instate them when Russia started using Iranian drones against Ukraine) to indirectly encouraging their hostage/money diplomacy, ignoring the actions of their proxies. …etc etc.
Like what are the chances of further escalation to the point we get more worries. Surely it won’t go to far as there is more to lose
