It’s not the opposition that won. It’s PiS that won plus most of possible coalition candidates for them have low results. If the opposition act as 1 sure. They can outvote PiS but let’s wait and see first. This is politics and suddenly, someone can make a u turn and join their coalition.
How is this possible? People were yesterday on this sub saying Poland wasn’t a democracy…
Congratulations, I certainly hope the opposition uses this chance they get well and shows the people they made the right choice.

After disappointment of the elections in Hungary and Slovakia, it feels good to have a election which brings a bright future for the Poland and also EU
The new government will be fragile, but it will lead to cooperation and consensus. The good news is that all main oposition parties are pro democracy, pro independent courst, and pro EU. The rest will be discussed and voted, just like in other democracies.
Seats in parliament according to exit polls:
200 (PiS) vs. 248 (KO+TD+L)
231 is required to form a majority

It’s probably is safer to wait for final results before opening champagne though. Exit polls didn’t go well for last keynote elections in Europe did they?!

Funny thing is that many people are still in lines to cast votes.
Voter turnout is over 70% so far. In many places at 9pm the person from commission stood at the end of the line but everyone in line can still vote. Close to my place the line was 350m long 20 minutes ago.
There are also votes from abroad. We expect 600k votes. Usually votes from abroad were supporting far right but this year it’s expected to have opposition sentiment. Those are not represented in any way in exit poll.
It just gives me hope that one day we will return to the democratic path as well.
