  1. According to multiple news reports, Gym Jordan ‘…has been in Congress for 16 years and the number of bills he has sponsored which became law is zero. The number of bills he has sponsored which passed the House is also zero. He had one resolution pass, to create the ‘Deep State’ subcommittee.’

  2. Put forward a unity candidate and get done with it already

  3. Would be an interesting way to marginalize the zealots again.

  4. Fuck Turner and Rapist enabler Gym Jordan. The GOP elected a bunch of toilet floaters. No amount of flushing will fix this speaker problem.

    >“There’s not one person who ever said that they have knowledge of Jim Jordan having any knowledge,” Turner said. “And what occurred at Ohio State wasn’t even under Jim Jordan, he was not like the head coach. This was not something that he had responsibility for.”

  5. Makes you wonder how bad the schism is between MAGAs and the rest of the Republican Party.

  6. So if a new speaker is appointed would the new speaker be able to immediately return the number of votes to oust to the previous figure or another entirely?

Because what’s to stop someone like Gaetz continually grinding the house to a halt by triggering a vote as soon as one is appointed?

  7. My guess. A number of R lawmakers will not show up to vote and 1 or 2 will vote for Jeffries or present. Lowering the threshold to elect him.

  8. The more reasonable members of the party need to be threatening the extremists with this proposition. It’s like a game of chicken and the extremists know that any Republican who dares reach across the aisle is likely fucked. Which gives the extremists too much leverage.

  9. I don’t know why the Republicans don’t just vote the first person that goes to the bathroom speaker and then just use him as a puppet………

  10. Nope. Why the hell should Democrats bail Republicans out of a mess of their own making? The offers better be damn sweet.

  11. Just once I would love for a dem to stand up to the gop “freedom clowns” when they ask for help and tell them to get bent. We are way past civility at this point. Tell Gym Jordan how you really feel dems, come on now.

  12. Jim Jordan the most disgusting, insurrectionists, lying clown in Congress. He’s our guy to lead the party lol. How the fuck do Republicans support this.

  13. If, by some bloody miracle, the sane GOP members and House Democrats elect a consensus Speaker, they already have a framework for moving forward. The House and Senate passed, and Joe Biden signed a bipartisan budget agreement to avoid a default. As long as they stick to that, they can effectively govern. The budget bills the MAGA Republicans want to pass have much deeper cuts and are DOA in the Senate. To the sane GOP members, grow some balls, put country above party, and make it happen.

  14. Representatives like Mike Turner, often described as a traditional or moderate Republican, supporting a far-right, lying, do-nothing rep like Jim Jordan for speaker is why the House GOP is in this situation. GOP members need to stand up to the extremists in their party if they want to prevent bullshit like this.

  15. They’re never going to go for a Dem, and the Repubicans can’t seem to agree on one of their own, so the only real solution is to look outside the House and find someone they can all agree on to be Speaker. How great would it be to have Hulk Hogan be Speaker of the House.?

  16. Hilarious that this guy thinks the non-MAGA Republicans who don’t support Gym Jordan are the “hard line Republicans.”

  17. It’s a simple solution. Even if Jeffries is temporary, we need to stop this clown show. Who even knows if McHenry wants the extra responsibility after that gavel hit.

  18. Sounds more like a threat to other republicans to get their act together or they may have to…gasp….compromise l.
