Why do we have to “back” Israel? They have so much more military power than Hamas that this isn’t so much a war as an extermination, that’s why Hamas uses terrorist/guerilla tactics.
We have two carrier groups in the area to keep other countries out of the conflict. We already send Israel billions of dollars in aid a year. Israel, a country that gives its citizens universal healthcare, while my shitty insurance covers less and less every year.
What more “backing” could they possibly need?

I’m going to be labeled an antisemite, but why does Israel need more than the almost 4 billion we provide every year? Sure, if it broadens widely that’s a different situation, but you’d think they could handle Gaza on their own.

People seem to conflate the Israel/Palestine conflict with Ukraine/Russia. It’s not. One is large scale combat operations and the other so far is just a carpet bombing campaign with some iron dome action. Israel’s needs are going to be for fairly limited amounts of specialized ground to air interceptors and air to ground smart munitions. These are not the hundreds of thousands of artillery shells and thousands of armored systems needed in the Donbass.
If the Israel/Palestine conflict widens, maybe the US will feel the need to expand aid, but they are apples and tiny peas in comparison

Each country requires drastically different equipment/parts than the other. So our resources aren’t really that much further strained.
