Russians have installed a barrier at the entrance to Sevastopol Bay, as evidenced by a new satellite image taken Oct. 13th, 2023

  1. Just make a barrier by sinking your war ships, you are good at that.

Later we may even erect another monument for you being so stupid.

The monument was erected in 1905 on the 50th anniversary of the Siege of Sevastopol, during the Crimean War, in which many ships of the Imperial Russian Navy were scuttled, most of them part of the Black Sea Fleet.

On 30th March 1856, the Crimean War was formally brought to an end with the signing of the Treaty of Paris. This formal recognition signed at the Congress of Paris came after Russia accepted a humiliating defeat against the alliance of Britain, France, the Ottoman Empire and Sardinia.

  2. Honest question: has the Russian navy ever won a battle of significant size? So not a fight involving 4 or less ships.

  3. How do their ships get out of that without hours long process to open the nets?

  4. Looks like 3 different depths of linked botany devices in a chain, that can be linked together (e.g., 2 door gate”). There’s more involved I’m sure and I may be miss analyzing things, perhaps their connected on the lower 2 by netting as well, but either way doesn’t seem too technically designed, I would have done something different.

  5. It’d be awesome if they could mount a modified Javelin on these drones. Get within a few miles and launch that puppy.

  6. The range of the new underwater sea babies (I like the name sea monkeys for the sub surface ones) don’t look like they were built for use in Crimea. These are more mischievous, ambitious little monkeys. These new defenses are stupid and meaningless but it gives the orcs something to do until their deliverance I guess.

  7. Bouncing dam buster bombs would make great video content here.

  8. They’re going to stop that bay up like a truck-stop toilet. They won’t be able to use it themselves. All they need is one really robust autumn storm and that mess of barriers is going to be all over the place.

  9. I’m gonna give it 2 weeks before that thing is an artificial reef.. be it by Ukrainian intervention or not lol

  10. Is that sunken mines in the middle where they can pull up fast if there’s intrusion? Idk first tike seeing this before

  11. Banana Republic Navy. Russia’s Black Sea Fleet situation has also crippled Russia’s Mediteranean Fleet which OPSEC say is down to just two corvettes and no subs. Russian Med fleet now needs relief from the Baltic or Northern fleet now.

  12. I was going to post this but I try to not spam this subreddit. Aren’t there multiple port entrances? I think the barges may have anti-aircraft guns on them.

  13. Wonder if the rest of the world´s navies are sitting up and taking notice, and putting up similar barriers?
