I think this new flyer from UDC Valais Romand is misleading and I wonder if this kind of thing should be legal.

Basically it says in French :
“Here is how to properly vote for the National Council[…]”
Then a detailled step by step procedure, including “open the envelope”, up to “Write this UDC list/name”.

I get what they are going for but to me, this is bordeline deceptive as it is framed to look like an official cantonal guideline.

I know that most if not all voters will understand what it is.
But sometimes when I see how people get scammed online I wonder how many elderly with dementia will follow this without realising they are being railroad.

What do you think citizen of reddit ?

  1. Not a lawyer, a Marketing Manager but for me, this is not illegal. Nowhere it says that it’s an official Flyer from Valais, on the contrary, the UDC Logo is very much present, not once but twice, as well as an e-mail address.

Is there a second page to this flyer?

Elderly with dementia can / could also be influenced by something else, family, friends, caregiver etc.

I understand the argument that the flyer is sketchy, especially if you dislike the UDC, but thats politics, in the end I don’t see why it should be illegal, from the look of it it’s clear it’s an UDC and not a Valais flyer.
