This mat just be me being stupid but I feel like when I turn these on I can’t feel a difference in temperature. Do I need to have it up higher? I have it at 17-18 right now. I’ve tried looking on google but everything I’ve seen has been for different types of heaters.

Well, to start with it would depend on how warm it is in your flat. I just switched the heating on this morning, and my rooms were between 16 and 18 degrees. If your room is warmer than 17 degrees, the heating won’t go on.
Not familiar with the model but it might be in night mode (indicated by the moon icon). It also might show the current temperature rather than your set temperature. Time to google the model number and download the manual!
Note that this is a thermostat so setting it to something super high does not help. You always have to set them to the desired temperature unless they are super broken.
17° C aren’t a lot. Are you sure that it’s colder than that in your room? Set it to a higher temperature.
