Ukrainian Army soldier, Volodymyr Gerashchenko, a graduate of the Kharkiv University of Skovoroda, he was recently killed in action near the village of Podola, Kupyan district – Kharkiv Oblast, on the Eastern Front, October 2023.

The tragic news of the soldier’s death was reported on the Kharkiv University of Skovoroda’s Facebook page.

He studied there from 1999 to 2003. Volodymyr is remembered at the university as a good student and an extremely decent man.

He was responsible, brave, sociable, empathetic, a true friend who was always ready to help.

His patriotism and devotion to his homeland made him a true defender and warrior. “The bright memory of him will forever remain in our hearts.. The Skovorodiniv community expresses its deepest condolences to the family, relatives and friends of the deceased,” the university wrote.
