  1. 68.8% is still too low, young people all over Europe need to realize that they can swing elections. It’s a lot of complaining online but when it comes down to it, GO VOTE!

  2. The title is a bit deceiving.

The bar chart shows what percentage of various age groups voted. Not the number of voters in each age group.

    As of 2021, there were:

    – 5 million Poles aged 18 to 29
    – 9.8 million Poles aged 60+ (almost twice as many as 18-29)

Using the percentage value from your graph:

    – 3,440,000 votes by people aged 18-29
    – 6,566,000 votes by people aged 60+

In short, one might as well say that the mobilization of 60+ helped unseat PiS.

  3. young people didn’t vote enough in previous elections. this is a big change, and possibly these 1 million or so non-PiS votes more makes them king-maker of this election.

  4. Literally any other age range voted more than the 60+

  5. Due to the aging population of developed countries, young people need to be especially active. Otherwise, they will live farther and farther in the past.

  6. Young people in other European countries should take heart from this. Cynicism and apathy are understandable, but when you vote, you can make real change happen.

  7. Can only hope we will see anything even remotely close to this in Romania soon, last turnout was 33%…
