Is it just me or does she look remarkably like Natalie Portman?
I think she’s doing just fine. It takes time to build a career and trust in the industry. You have to prove yourself and accomplish things along the way, it doesn’t simply get handed to you because you’re passionate. This is the best way, because it’s not a flash in the pan, you build what you want over time by making smart choices and waiting for great opportunities. By doing this you’ll have a real foundation and respect in the business. Much better than “I want what I want and I want it right now”.
It’s the only reason we know about you dumbass
“Creating stories I’m passionate about” like the book you had ghost written?
Without stranger things, no one would care what she has to say anyway
Finn Wolfhard has been in major motion pictures and recorded an album and music videos with his band.
Young actor wanting to move on from the YA mass media that made them famous is among the most common tropes in Hollywood- why people find this surprising or offensive is beyond me.
Eh, she’s just young. Younger folks have a harder time with the pace of success and what it really looks like. Especially when they are lucky enough to have fame at such a young age. She just needs to give it time, count her blessings, and not be quick to burn bridges.
“The dirtier [stories], the better.”
I wish her well especially since successful young actors tend to face hard time transitioning to adult roles BUT god, she comes off a bit childish in some of her interviews. Wish she improve in that aspect or maybe show some reflection – the criticism is far overblown BUT necessary.
So stupid. Some of the GoT people were saying this too back in it’s hay-day, now they are crawling back to be in the Jon Snow series. Millie Bobby Brown is also not a great actress. Double whammy!
It’s unfair to her to call her stupid just because her character on Stranger Things talks in simplified language. However, she’s also a child star whose middle and high school experience comes from trailers on tv sets, with parents who very clearly had much more of an interest in her being a superstar than a well-rounded person. It seems like she’s currently struggling with the child actor problem of thinking she can’t escape playing her child character, so even though she’s 19 she’s been dressing and acting like she’s 25 for like 4 years now.
She’s also just not been that strong of an actor. She’s excellent at emoting, which is what made her a sensation in Stranger Things, but put her in another role and it just sounds like she’s reciting the script. Her whole marketing push right now seems to be confidently stating she’s an adult who can do adult things now but every choice just seems such an overstep in this direction that it isn’t doing her any good.
I feel bad for Millie. I don’t understand why, but she’s the target of the most random social media-influenced vitriol and has been for years. What has she done to deserve it?
Happens to a lot of actors when their first role is huge – Either they get typecast, or not cast at all because people only identify you as one character.
Star Wars is a good example – I doubt Daisy Ridley is going to get another hit that isn’t in the franchise. Mark Hamill had it rough for a while. Hayden Christensen too.
I mean, maybe she wisened up, but she was a flat earther.
Is this the same girl that said she still not convinced the earth’s not flat?
