I work in an industry with many tens to low hundreds of millions dollars contracts being handed out, and need to get approval from many local and state government authorities. I have to be careful who I hand out/receive a cheap plastic water bottle from because it can be treated as giving/receiving a bribe. I’m an insignificant cog in the whole operation, with so little power I don’t even have someone under me. Yet, members of the federal government can trade stocks while also making rules for how companies operate, take yacht rides from ‘pals’, and use campaign donations as shopping money.
This needs to end. Me and millions of other Americans are held to a higher standard than these clowns.
