Benjamin Netanyahu sollte Israel nach dem „schwersten Schlag“ des Landes nicht auf lange Sicht anführen, sagt Ex-Premierminister

  1. I think this is a sentiment most would agree with.

  2. Problem is, who *should* lead Israel? I doubt anyone running for that position is NOT a Zionist… am I wrong?

  3. After propping up financially Hamas for years to weaken the Palestine Authority and dissuade the creation of the Palestine state, of course Netanyahu must go.

But who comes next? Another right-wing extremist or a more moderate politician, who both curbs Hamas and also concedes the chance of having a two-state solution?

  4. Well, he is right, and the logic is simple:

    a) Netanyahu polarized the area deliberately, both in regards to politics (see inner protests against him trying to seize the justice system), supporting settlers, but also with his own antics (showing a map that says all “disputed” areas belong to Israel as-is)

    and then

    b) failed to protect Israeli

Now, assuming Netanyahu, Mossad etc… had really zero advance knowledge (hard to believe that they are all suddenly incompetent, but let’s just ASSUME it were the case), then it is still a major failure in regards to security. That is, withdrawing the army to protect settlers, **directly** meant that Netanyahu endangered Israeli in the south. An elderly lady expressed that very loudly about four days ago, asking **where** Netanyahu was. And I think this is a sentiment that is echoed by many more in this regard.

I believe that b) is the primary reason why Netanyahu will be held responsible, whereas a) is more like an additional reason to get rid of him (from politics that is).

It’s understandable that this will not be solved as long as Israel considers itself to be at high alert war against Hamas, but sooner or later that issue will come back to haunt Netanyahu, and I think his political career is over. Unfortunately that does not mean the other ultra-right nuts will stop, so the situation is again “locked in” towards violence and non-solution in regards to Palestines. So same of the old again.

  5. Netanyahu is a failure. His whole career was about the military and protecting Israel.

  6. Netanyahu is a criminal, and has always pandered to the ultra orthodox to try to cling to power. Hamas is ultimately to blame for what’s going on, but Netanyahu is more than happy for any distractions/excuses to stay in power.

  7. Let just use him as a scape goat to justify the apartheid and finish with the cleansing then be done with him

  8. Your daily reminder that high ranking members of Netanyahu’s coalition confirmed that His wife, Sarah ( Which is by far the most hated women is Israel) stalled the formation of the emergency government because she was afraid that the member of the opposition, Benni Gantz, will “steal” the position from Netanyahu once the war is over.
And that means she will be forced to stop getting money from the people of Israel for her luxurious life style. She is a multi millionaire by the way. Benni Gantz was Israel’s Chief of the General Staff (leader if the army) for 4 years and knows alot about fighting a war.

This is how she looks like:

    Vile women.

  9. One of the ministers said that the reason for the failure was because the current government was in place only for a year, and that the previous government managed to weaken the military in its a year. Totally ignoring the fact that Bibi was prime minister for 14 years prior to that.

The worst disaster in the history of Israel can’t go unpunished, Bibi has to go

  10. While I agree with this sentiment, note that Ehud Barak is still relatively active in politics, and politically opposed to Netanyahu. Him saying this is pretty expected.

  11. A lot of the poeple who voted for him, and a lot of people who dont, keep saying that now is not the time to look for the guilty. They are right, that time has passed, we allowed the guily to deal in “judicial reforms” and in sending battalions from Gaza to Judea and Samaria.

Why? Because the minister of “national security”, Itamar Ben-Gvir, insists on going to the temple mount to provoke the muslims there, and that means the IDF is needed there to maintain order. If Ben-Gvir, a convicted Jewish terrorist btw, would become unhappy with Bibi, he would break the coalition. Bibi is being held by the balls by a convicted terrorisis, and so are we, the people of Israel.

  12. A lot of folks don’t realize that Netanyahu has had net disapproval in Israel for quite a while, and that over half to 2/3 of the population have wanted him out [throughout that time.](https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/poll-shows-backing-for-netanyahu-imploding-gantz-taking-the-rudder/) Israel doesn’t have a two party system like the US, though — most people disapproving of Bibi doesn’t actually knock Bibi out of office.

The issue is that all those people that dislike him can’t agree on who they like, instead — and so his party still keeps getting more votes, and getting to form governments. Now, his approval is finally imploding to the point where others (e.g., Benny Gantz) command a larger portion of the electorate than he does.

  13. Even anyone pro-Israeli should agree with this. Netanyahu and his friends threaten the moral high ground of Israel.

  14. Ehud Olmert said the same thing in an interview last week.

  15. Kick the rest of the right wing out so there might actually be chance of peace and a two state solution

  16. I thought this guy was done after the scandal with his wife spending a ton of money and treating the maid like a POS?
