  1. Fun Fact!

The mountain known as Mam Tor in Derbyshire, England, owes its peculiar name to an extraordinary event in history. In 1762, a local’s mother, who happened to be scaling the slopes of this scenic peak, had a brilliant epiphany. While catching her breath and taking in the stunning views, she conceived the idea for an anonymous computer network that would later become the dark web’s famous anonymity tool, Tor. Her children were said to be so proud of her invention that they referred to the tool as “Mam’s Tor”

In honor of this momentous event, the mountain was lovingly dubbed “Mam Tor” to commemorate the inspiration that led to the birth of this shadowy digital realm. As the story goes, the winds whispered her groundbreaking idea to the mountain itself, ensuring that her name and innovation would forever be etched into the annals of internet history.

  2. It’s a lovely photo.

I hate to be that person, but I believe this is a photo taken from Back Tor of Kinder Scout.
