  1. After reading the article, it’s not sexual weirdness, it’s just plain misogyny.

    Unfortunately, misogyny sells.

Edit: there’s literally nothing kinky here. It’s all about controlling women.

  2. Never getting laid again because you declared yourself a fascist will do that to you.

  3. >Last week, Gutfeld hosted a far-right figure named Hotep Jesus, who is known primarily for being an apologist for white supremacists and anti-semites. Hotep Jesus, whose real name is Bryan Sharpe, was on the show to promote a “dating” blog that is, in actuality, propaganda for domestic abuse. As Media Matters chronicled, Sharpe regards it as a form of adultery if women are “allowed” to work or vote. “Imagine guts, sweat, and tears shed only to watch your woman get dolled up only to prance around another man’s office while he gives her marching orders,” Sharpe writes, claiming, “Women WANT to give up control of their life,” and that they only vote, work, or otherwise make decisions because of “the pressure of modern society.”

Imagine forgetting that women have worked since the dawn of time.

My paternal grandma worked in a textile mill. My maternal grandma worked as a schoolteacher. My mom worked for a state telecom firm. I work in tech.

And before that, generations of women worked at the [distaff and spindle](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Distaff), which was a thing well known enough that it was used as propaganda for a queen of France (obviously she never got her hands dirty, but it’s the thought that counts). A tool that millions of women used for hours each day, and we’ve forgotten about it. But we all know the shepherd’s crook; and how many of us are farming sheep?

  4. Not surprising. One of the primary ~~tenants~~ tenets of a cult is the need to push members into increasingly extreme positions in order to weed out the disloyal and maintain order. Eventually this leads to something as extreme as mass suicide, so we’ll see what happens

    EDIT: Geez sorry

  5. They were always weird about sex because they weren’t taught about it

  6. Gutfeld’s ‘comedy’ is just snarky and cruel verbal vomit.

  7. The GOP wants women to be second class citizens that are essentially owned by men.

How any woman votes for their party is absolutely mind-blowing.

  8. “as anyone who has studied cults can tell you, they never limit their escalations to violence or hateful ideologies. There’s almost always a weird sexual component …”

Republicans have a weird obsession with sex. Ironically, the same crowd that promoted Pizzagate also attend church where sex offenders thrive.

Critical thinking is non-existent in a cult. Trump and MAGA Republicans put the cult in conservative culture. This is the Republican Party and there is no recovery.

  9. They always have been lol, my wife’s one close friend is with the most right wing MAGA idiot you can imagine, I had a vasectomy a year ago and when he asked me when we were having kids my wife piped up and laughed that there was no chance of that and mimed the “snip snip” motion and he actually teared up saying “why would you want to go to hell for her? Having children is a sacred right!”

They have always been weird about it and it’s about having women as nothing but birthing chambers.

  10. Are they getting weirder or has it always been this way?

I grew up deeply, deeply conservative, my family was similar in beliefs to the Duggars and that was my social circles. The Duggars were a more visibly extreme example but lots of people had a lot of similar beliefs in terms of marriage dynamics minus the extreme courtship. The majority of people I knew were against women working because she’d be “submitting to another man” and “likely to cheat.” They didn’t want to vote for a female president because “she’d have to submit to her husband so he could control politics even if he wasn’t elected.” They blamed women if their husbands cheated and they said even if a woman was being physically abused or threatened to be strangled by her husband she should stay and “submit” to turn his heart to God.

This is all old stuff, they’re just talking more openly about it. Maybe the new part is that the people saying it now aren’t even religious?

  11. I wish people didn’t act like this shit was a surprise. Handmaids Tale was a response to their policies and platforms in the 80s and literally nothing’s changed. They want women barefoot and pregnant and subservient to men, anyone who believes otherwise, including the whole gaggle of Serena Joys making apologies for this shit, are completely delusional.

  12. They’ve always been weird about sex, they just feel guilty about it.

  13. Men on the far-right realize that modern “empowered” women would never choose their lazy, childish, regressive asses, and rather then try to improv themselves at all they instead try to take away women’s right to choose.

  14. I always knew that the wider far right was going to openly adopt incel ideology but I didn’t know it would be so soon. They really seem to want to permanently lose half the voting population.

  15. This is just men wanting to control access to sex and emotional security. They were raised by dysfunctional parents and the only way they know.how to ease their anxiety is to be able to control and trap women in their lives. Abortion access, anti-gay hysteria, equal rights are all barriers to this and so they resort to violence.

  16. Their need to control absolutely every aspect of women’s lives–their bodies, dress, demeanor, speech, labor–the obsession with sex and purity, the expectation of total submission to men is all fetishization. It is a D/s lifestyle kink masquerading as faith.

The religious right is attempting to legislate THEIR kink on the whole country and criminalize everybody else’s. Consenting adults have the right to engage in any behavior they choose to in the privacy of wherever they are–But forcing others by law to participate in your kink is evil.

  17. It’s clear they believe the incel movement can serve as a Great Replacement (lol) for the dwindling Evangelical anti-sex weirdos on the right.

I don’t think the numbers are even close to being there. Yeah, Andrew Tate is popular for a certain segment of young, teen boys (unfortunately) but most will grow out of it. It’s not a sustainable constituency. It’s just very loud.

  18. They’re doing their best to not say that women are property.

  19. GOPers want women to be kept chained in a barn to be beeding stock more non shocking news at 11.

  20. I’ve never seen a group of people who obsess over the genitals of trans people or children more than bigoted, deeply repressed, Christian conservative freaks

  21. Margaret Atwood doesn’t get enough credit for predicting this bullshit. I just imagine she never thought it would happen in the 2020s (HMT was published in 1985)

  22. The right has always been weird about sex. And it’s because of religion. Religion and sexual repression often go hand-in-hand. And I say this as a Christian who has seen this in my fellow Christians.

  23. The rich have got their eyes on the bedrooms of the poor.

Leonard Cohen, “The Tower of Song”

  24. Not shocked a group of losers who can’t get laid are totally ok with rape and domestic violence

  25. The Republican “small government” party is utterly obsessed with Governing the sex lives of Americans

  26. Bro they are the most ass backwards mfs you’ll come across when it comes to sex. They’re worried about our kids being groomed in school by teachers and books while simultaneously allowing marriage to 16 year olds in like a dozen republican led states. They hold those disgusting beauty pageants that help them feel normal about checking out little children. The rampant molestation and grooming that occurs at any given church. Oh and those same 16 year olds are more than old enough to have kids but if they want to abort it’s not their body anymore and they need to think of the life of the unborn fetus. I’m kind of all over the place here but it’s fucking crazy shit nonetheless.

  27. Why would any sane person think or care what these psychopaths believe?

  28. “Getting weird”

Yeah but not even in like a cool kinky way. Just in a “we hate women” way, and that’s no fun for anyone.

  29. As a white progressive male in the state of texas… ‘conservative’ women seem to love getting fucked by guys that are not their husbands. I’m choosing this moment to tell them thank you and I love you too

And they call progressive men cucks.. lol

  30. Their self oppression is making them crazy. The fact they can’t oppress others is making them angry. It’s a volatile combination for a cult.

  31. The right are a bunch of paedos. Forcing 10 year olds to give birth. Refusing to remove 12 year old age of marriages.

Just learnt last week off John oliver that the main lobby group for homeschooling refuses to even let states have a compulsory welfare check on children being homeschooled to protect them from abusive parents and carers

    Paedos..all of them!
