5. Why the f#@k Do they always leave this hatches open?! Serious question.. wouldn’t it make sense to close them..?

6. Has to be the worst design in history in terms of survivability.

   I served on an M1 abrams series tank. Survivability was definitely a feature i loved. The ammo was stored behind doors that opened and closed and had roof blowout panels where the munitions would blow out and keep us safe while expelling all the explodey stuff.

   Sitting on top of all your rounds and round propellant means that anything basically with a flame could end your time on earth very quickly and with a LOT of heat and bang.

9. Can someone educate me on why they leave the hatches open? If closed that would protect the ammo and prevent such a massive explosion.
